HJC News – Nitzavim and Rosh Hashana

Shalosh Seudos is co-sponsored by David Farkas in honor of Rabbi Davidovich and Martin Lipman in honor of his and the Daf Yomi cycle’s siyum on Bava Kamma.

The next Simcha Kiddush is next Shabbos, October 8. Please contact Jason Claude or Esther in the office to co-sponsor for as little as $18 a name.

Please call the office to reserve your seats, place names of loved ones in the Yizkor Book, and reserve babysitting. Children who are not enrolled in babysitting ahead of time will not be able to use the service.

Also, the office is now taking orders for Lulav and Esrog sets.

"It is appropriate for every G-d fearing man to make an effort to get an Aliyah on the Yomim Noraim (Rosh Hashana or Yom Kippur)… There is greater spiritual advantage in a Mitzvah that comes one’s way through monetary expenditure than in a Mitzvah that has come one’s way free of charge." (Mishna Berura)

If you are interested in taking the initiative in acquiring the merit of an Aliya on the Yomim Noraim, for yourself or someone else, and investing in our Kehilla at the same time, please contact the office or Martin Lipman.

In the spirit of Elul, I have been typing up some of my Torah thoughts on a website, called "This Shiur is About You". Anyone who is interested in following my posts should go to https://thisshiurisaboutyou.wordpress.com/, and sign up to receive emails of the newest posts.
