From: robert altshuler <raltshuler12

To all members and friends of HJCS:

Regretfully, our Shabbos morning baby sitter will be out of town this week. We have been unable to obtain an alternate sitter. If you plan on bringing your children this Shabbos morning, please make arrangements with other parents to take turns staying with the little ones. Under no circumstances are children to be unattended while inside the synagogue building.

Thank you for your understanding. If you are aware of an available substitute for the future (We will need a permanent replacement after June 9) Please contact me by return email or call the office at 216-382-1958.

Have a peaceful Shabbos.

Rob Altshuler

Harassing Phone call update

Subject: Harassing Phone call update
Date: Wed, 18 Apr 2018 17:28:46 -0400
From: robert altshuler <raltshuler12

Dear Heights Jewish Center Members, Stakeholders, and Friends,

I am writing to follow-up on the anti-Semitic phone messages incident that occurred in January at Heights. I wanted to let you know that the University Heights Police Department (UHPD) has informed me that the individual responsible for the harassing phone calls has been identified and arrested. He has confessed to carrying out these heinous calls. The detective presiding over the investigation has indicated that there is no apparent larger threat and that the suspect appears to have been acting of his own accord. Further background checks are being conducted to confirm that this threat has no deeper origin.

We plan to pursue legal action against this person to the full extent of the law.

The officers and Executive Board of HJC take everyone’s safety and security very seriously. Over the past three months, we have cooperated closely with UHPD and the Jewish Federation. We are grateful to UHPD for prioritizing our community and handling this unfortunate situation with such care.

We look forward to seeing you at Shul, and we will continue to make your safety and security our priority.

Sincerely,

Rob Altshuler

President, HJCS
